The Polymath Project, S3 E2: Mixed Reality & Vigorous Play

Children are the future of society, but they are also the ones most vulnerable to its deficiencies. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, vigorous play is essential to a child’s development, yet childhood obesity is at an all time high.

In the latest episode of The Polymath Project, Polymath host (and b.labs Founder & CEO) Arman Rousta explores how innovators can use cutting-edge technology to help children work up a sweat, while also having fun in the process. As his primary example, he uses b.labs venture Basement Sports, a mixed reality gaming and experiential social network that allows kids of all ages to play Baseball, Soccer, and Hockey from the comfort of their own home. He discusses the animating philosophy of Basement Sports, and includes a real use-case scenario showing how the app's features can be born out in practice.

Improving the health and well-being of our youth ensures a better future for everyone. We encourage entrepreneurs, thought leaders, community organizers, and readers of all stripes to get involved in whatever way they can.
